FORUM CINEMAS BABILONAS opening on August 28

On August 28 a new cinema center is going to welcome Panevezys residents and its guests with exclusive offers and world premières. The most modern center in the state spanning three cinema halls that can accommodate 700 people is to become an integral part of “a city in the city” BABILONAS.

On an 80 ha land plot there have already been developed 2 shopping and entertainment centers, the only skating rink in Panevezys, a home improvement, garden equipment and construction material store “Bauhof”, a Technical Service Center, “Kesko Agro Lithuania”. Besides that, still this year VOLVO and RENAULT are opening car retail and service center, the development of the third shopping center BABILONAS, a construction appliances and vehicle center STOKKER, “Sanitex”, “Cash & Carry” will be started.  

The construction of residential district is also scheduled where individual and terraced houses are to be built, while next to the second shopping center – a commercial eighteen storey office and luxury apartment building will be situated to join the first two shopping and leisure centers. The architects of BABILONAS even have a vision of fifty storey skyscraper.

On the other hand, the demands of modern audience have really risen and require huge investments in sound, vision or comfort facilities. So we are really confident and pleased that we have moved a few steps ahead of European standards and our audience will get all the best what film industry can offer at the moment,“ assured Arunas Baltrusaitis, Chief Executive of “Forum Cinemas“UAB.   

“The city always welcomes incoming investments with open arms. One of the largest projects in the Baltic States – BABILONAS has already been developed in Panevežys and now the biggest cinema operator opens. It is great that our city is going to have such a modern and spacious cinema,” stated Kastytis Vainauskas, Deputy Mayor of Panevezys city municipality.
  
Film screening equipment, that have cost over 5 million litas, will produce realistic images and DTS sound technologies will make you have a thought whether a roaring monster in the screen is really just a special effect. The angle of modern amphitheater platform is so calculated that even the smallest spectator in any seat or aisle could see the screen well. The youngest visitors of the cinema center will be seated on booster cushions. On hot summer day or cold winter evening the temperature in the cinema center will be always even – plus 22C. The air will be continuously refreshed by air-conditioners.

Our visitors will be able to enjoy popular comedies, action films, thrillers, family films and cartoons every day. There will be introduced not only the newest Hollywood films but national premières, film festivals, unconventional, non-commercial films from Europe and other regions of the world. Such events as well-liked “Yomayo” film days, COSMO VIP showings, MTV midnight film showings, “Lucky Seat” lottery and the popular international film festival “Kino pavasaris” will also take place in “Forum Cinemas Babilonas”, Panevezys. 

In this center you will also find a modern bar and a confectionery. Like in other “Forum Cinemas” centers you will be able to book tickets to the in advance scheduled film showings and worldwide premières and to purchase them online. 18 films are planned to show a day at a cost of 6 – 12 litas.
