BABILONAS was awarded The Best Multifunctional Business Complex in 2007 at Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA) – a member of The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) – awards „For sustainable development“. There were 21 project appreciated in a contest and 11 of them were nominated for the best real estate project, the best multifunctional project and the best residential project.
The jury of representatives from Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, consumer organizations, architects and journalists valuated projects for their architecture, construction quality, additional value, benefit for the city and citizens and how the projects were to fulfill the idea of sustainable development.
It is the second time BABILONAS awarded for the best multifunctional project (first one in 2005).
Upon completion of 2 shopping and entertainment centres BABILONAS already opened in 2005 and 2007, a third shopping centre and the Link Malls to be constructed in the nearest future, and a Multifunctional District, the 150 thousand sq. metres retail scheme will form the biggest one in the region.
BABILONAS is being developed by OGMIOS REAL ESTATE on an 80 ha territory and is the only and the biggest (up to 400,000 m² upon completion) retail, entertainment, office and residential district in Panevezys designed as City within the City. It will be formed of several shopping centres, office/residential towers, an entertainment zone, a multi-industry district, a car retail and service square and a residential district. A solid unit of the objects corresponds to the modern concept of sustainable development of the city, fulfills and refreshes architectual view of the city.
